Mass Chaos

Today can be said it was different. We started off different...biscuits & gravy for breakfast instead of the pancakes we usually have on Tuesday. Spaghetti for lunch...we have sometimes had that Monday for lunch...for day camp only weeks. The reason for the biscuits & gravy this morning is because John is going to cook a turkey for lunch tomorrow. He'll have to have it in the oven by 5 a.m. He's cooking a whole turkey & two breasts. So we decided it would be easier to have pancakes for breakfast. They just require the griddle...and not the ovens.

As John was preparing the turkeys this evening, I had to keep going down to the house to get different spices of which we were running low at the dining room. The campers were in the field between our house & the dining room. They were playing this game which looked like mass chaos. They were running here & there. Some were sitting out but then would be able to get back in the game a little later. But they were having a blast...or so seemed to be. The one thing we have learned is if the game seems like mass confusion the children like it much better than one that seems neat & tidy.

Shortly before lunch today a mother called. She wondered if it would be okay if "they" came out & interviewed her child today. Well come to find out her child was a Shriner's child. He has had several surgeries which Shriners has taken care of. Apparently they were in the area today & wanted to interview him. A local television station came out also. I thought I overheard him say he thought he would be on the news tonight. Unfortunately we won't get to see the interview because of our scheduling. Maybe some of you will recognize the camp when you see the interview. They asked to get some footage of him, his siblings & some cousins playing ball so we let them do that for the first part of their rest time.
